Sesame Street Safari

In keeping with the rest of the park, the new Sesame Street-themed area of Busch Gardens in Florida will celebrate the spirit of Africa.

Sesame Street Safari of Fun will feature 13 rides, two shows, plus dining and shopping opportunities. The rides include Air Grover, a junior coaster by Zierer and The Count’s Zambezi Rally, a car ride from Chance/Bradley & Kaye. Four new rides from Zamperla include Zoe-Patra & the Hippos of the Nile, a flume ride, Snuffy’s Elephant Romp, a flying ride, Elmo’s Safari Go-Round, a tribal-inspired carousel, and Big Bird’s Whirly Birdie, a Ferris Wheel. Rosita’s Djembe Fly-Away is a swing ride supplied by Sartori, while Cookie Monster’s Canopy Crawl is a three-story net climb from Nets-Pentes Design.

The park is building five of the attractions in-house. These include Telly’s Jungle Jam, a play area, Elmo’s Treehouse Trek, a three-story hideaway, Slimey’s Sahara Sand, a sand-filled beach, Oscar’s Swamp Stomp, a water play area and Bert & Ernie’s Watering Hole, a completely new water adventure filled with bubblers, geysers, jets, dumping buckets and more.

The Sunny Day Theater will present musical performances, and there will also be a 4D movie featuring the Sesame Street characters called Lights, Camera, Imagination. Finally, Big Bird’s 123-Smile with Me photography studio gives kids the chance to share a hug and a smile with Sesame Street friends.

The new site is being created where Land of the Dragons exists, and will double the area’s current size to 2.5 acres.
