Universal Studios Hollywood has unveiled news about the upcoming Fast & Furious ride, including a teaser and a few concept images. The new Fast & Furious roller coaster was announced last year, and Universal aims to open the ride in 2026, and construction has already begun.

Rumours about a new ride Fast & Furious ride had circulated for years before Universal finally announced the project in May 2024. The updates on the ride come at a great time, as Hollywood Drift will replace Fast & Furious: Supercharged, which closed earlier this year.

Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift is Universal Studios Hollywood’s first high-speed outdoor roller coaster, reaching speeds of up to 72mph. The ride will also feature 360-degree vehicle rotation and sound reduction technology to enhance the experience. The rotation is intended to deliver a drifting experience, as guests will spin while riding at high speeds.

Scott Strobl, executive vice president & general manager, Universal Studios Hollywood, said: “Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift will be a powerful game changer for Universal Studios Hollywood that will not only transform the topography of our destination but will infuse an entirely new level of adrenaline to our already dynamic theme park.

“We look forward to riding it ourselves and to welcoming guests to experience it in the very near future.”
