Planet Snoopy

The Cedar Fair chain is to transform two more Camp Snoopy children’s areas at its park in the United States into Planet Snoopy.

At Dorney Park in Allentown, Pennsylvania, the $8 million Planet Snoopy will open in spring 2011 encompassing nearly three-and-a-half acres (1.4 hectares) of land, making it the largest collections of kids’ rides on the US East Coast. As well as retheming nine of the existing rides, Dorney Park will also introduce nine new ones by Zamperla including a Flying Ace Balloon Race, Linus Launcher, Snoopy’s Sky Ride and an aerial monorail with themed passenger cars. Also featured will be the new Peanuts Showplace amphitheatre, Snoopy Boutique souvenir store, Soda Pop Shop and a family care facility for those with infants and toddlers.

At World of Fun in Kansas City, Missouri, Planet Snoopy represents a $5 million expansion. Here Zamperla will also supply a balloon ride, joined by a new car ride truck ride, tea cups and Rockin’ Tug. In total, Planet Snoopy will feature over 20 new and rethemed rides, shows and attractions. The new look is scheduled to open in April.
