Park reopens with new theme

Nickelodeon Universe has opened at the Mall of America, Bloomington, Minnesota. Formerly Camp Snoopy, the re-branded seven-acre indoor theme park features 24 rides, 18 of which are Nickelodeon-themed.

There are five completely-new attractions, including two rollercoasters – Avatar Airbender, an Intamin Halfpipe, and SpongeBob SquarePants Rock Bottom Plunge, a Gerstlauer Eurofighter offering unique vertical lifts, spirals and 90-degree turns. Both are the first of their kind to be built indoors. Also featured are Splat-O-Sphere, a Moser Spring Ride, Blue’s Skidoo is by SBF/Visa and the Rugrats Reptarmobiles from IE Park.
Daily meet-and-greets with “Nick” characters including SpongeBob, Dora the Explorer, Danny Phantom and Jimmy Neutron are a highlight of the revamped entertainment venue, which also includes a 4,000 sq ft retail outlet. Nickelodeon Universe is the first-ever standalone Nickelodeon theme park in the world, and the largest indoor park in the USA.
