KidZania opens its first North America location in Dallas

KidZania, an interactive education and entertainment concept designed for kids, opens to the public for the first time in the U.S. The 85,000 square-foot city built for kids is located at Stonebriar Centre, 2617 Preston Road, Frisco, Texas. KidZania gives kids the knowledge and confidence to be outstanding citizens.

“After 20 years in business and a global footprint of 28 locations in 21 countries, we’re thrilled to open KidZania’s first U.S. location,” says Greg Stevens, chief executive officer at KidZania USA. “What makes KidZania unique is it operates like a real city complete with buildings, paved streets, vehicles, a functioning economy, and recognisable careers for kids to role-play careers at leading international and local companies.”

At KidZania, kids can role-play more than 100 authentic professions across 50 industries, including healthcare, technology, food and beverage, music and media, transportation, banking, civil service and more.

“At KidZania, we pride ourselves in teaching kids ages 6-14 essential life skills including communication, problem solving, creativity and teamwork,” says Allison Burney, education advisor at KidZania USA. “Learning is at the heart of KidZania. Every child can put together the knowledge acquired through immersive role-play that absolutely accelerates the learning process within a safe environment.”

Safety is top priority at KidZania. Before stepping through security, each child receives a bracelet with a RFID chip. The bracelet links the child to their parent or guardian and only allows the child to leave with an exact match. Adults must be accompanied by a child to enter.

Each KidZania has approximately 500,000+ visitors annually and employs 350-500 team members.
