Jenkinson’s Boardwalk, Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey, has introduced the Tidal Wave, a surf-themed SBF/Visa Spinning Family Coaster model 5.0 brokered by Rides-4-U. Its theming was inspired by the iconic beach culture of the Jersey Shore. The Tidal Wave holds up to 20 riders at a time in a total of five cars. This two-minute ride spins in a clockwise manner and reaches top speeds of 20 mph (32 kph).
Standing at approximately 90 feet (27 m) wide and 20 feet (6 m) high, the Tidal Wave replaced the Flitzer Roller Coaster at the far south end of the amusement park. The Flitzer was part of Jenkinson’s Boardwalk for more than 20 years.
