Standards group celebrates 30 years
The ASTM International Committee F24 on Amusement Rides and Devices will celebrate its 30th anniversary this year.
ASTM is one of the largest voluntary standards development organisations in the world and since 1978 Committee F24 has developed many of the standards that underpin the safety of amusement rides and attractions.
These standards cover the design, manufacture, maintenance, inspection and operation of traditional amusement rides, speciality rides, as well as water-related rides and devices
Today, Committee F24 comprises approximately 500 professionals from 23 countries. F24 members include ride designers and manufacturers, engineers, technicians, regulators, inspectors, park owners and operators, representing some of the largest names in the global amusement business. These experts participate on one or more of nine standards-writing subcommittees, creating and refining exacting safety standards. www.astm.org
