Zero Latency VR, a global leader in free-roam multiplayer virtual reality entertainment, will be bridging the physical and virtual worlds in Abu Dhabi this summer. The innovative experience will be Zero Latency’s first UAE location and Abu Dhabi’s first free roam VR experience. The attraction will debut at The Galleria Al Maryah Island, the capital’s leading lifestyle and entertainment destination.
At Zero Latency Abu Dhabi, up to eight people will be able to play with or against each other in a variety of completely immersive virtual worlds. With no cables or wires and a massive game space to roam, players are immersed inside a game where their bodies become the controllers, and their minds believe it’s real.
Players may choose their experiences from a library that includes over half a dozen games. This library features the zombie apocalypse favourite, Undead Arena, and puzzle adventure game, Engineerium, both available as special offers at the grand opening at The Galleria.
Zero Latency VR has partnered with Qwerty LLC, an Emirati start-up dedicated to investing in cutting-edge technologies, to bring their warehouse-sized, multiplayer gaming experience to Abu Dhabi for the first time.
“The UAE has taught us to always seek the best and aspire to become pioneers in vital sectors of our economy, such as technology. Qwerty LLC is proud to be shaped by their vision and become one of the first companies in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to work in the fields of virtual reality and offer the latest developed technology for everyone to experience,” said Khaleefa Al Dhaheri, Partner, Qwerty LLC.
Commenting on the upcoming opening David Robinson, general manager of The Galleria Al Maryah Island said, “We are very excited to introduce first-to-the-UAE concept Zero Latency to Abu Dhabi. As an experience-led and community-focused destination, The Galleria is committed to curating meaningful experiences for our guests. Our extraordinary mix of world-class entertainment and leisure attractions, combined with first-to-market concepts sets us apart as a destination. Zero Latency will add immensely to our family of entertainment offerings.”
The Abu Dhabi venue will also be using the latest Zero Latency Generation 2 VR System, developed in partnership with HP, Intel, and Microsoft.
“Once the wireless headset is on, you try hard to convince yourself that the virtual world isn’t real, but the immersion is undeniable. Zero Latency Abu Dhabi brings a Virtual Reality; that you can’t experience anywhere else,” said Mohammed Al Shamsi, Partner, Qwerty LLC.
“We know everyone will be excited for a new experience in Abu Dhabi, especially for one that is the first-of-its-kind and one that they can do with friends or family. Whether you’re a family looking to get out of the house, a group of friends looking for a fun night out, or an HR rep looking for a safe way to reconnect your staff with innovative team building after a year of working from home, we’ve got you covered. I can promise you that Zero Latency VR is an amazing, safe, and unforgettable experience that’s never been seen in the UAE before.”
Zero Latency Abu Dhabi has instituted comprehensive hygiene and safety protocols to make the experience safe amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Continuous disinfection protocols ensure that all equipment and surfaces are thoroughly cleaned and sanitised in line with UAE government regulations. Employees are also tested regularly and have been vaccinated to keep everybody safe. The VR system itself also uses state-of-the-art player tracking and proximity alerts to keep players at a safe distance from one another.
Zero Latency VR Abu Dhabi will open soon on Level 3 at The Galleria Al Maryah Island.
