Enchanted Forest Water Safari is celebrating 70 years of family fun, marking seven decades since the attraction first opened its doors in 1956 and began welcoming generations of visitors to New York’s Adirondacks
The milestone forms part of the park’s 70th anniversary season, which has seen Enchanted Forest Water Safari combine its much-loved classic attractions with new experiences for 2026.
Located in Old Forge, New York, Enchanted Forest Water Safari has grown from its beginnings in 1956 into New York State’s largest water theme park, with more than 50 rides and attractions spanning water rides, amusement attractions and family entertainment.
A major addition for the anniversary season is Paul Bunyan’s Log Haul, a new family-friendly spinning roller coaster inspired by the legendary lumberjack. The attraction features ride vehicles that independently rotate as they travel around a figure-eight track, creating a different experience with every ride. The coaster officially opened alongside the park’s 70th anniversary season on 10 June.
The anniversary celebrates not only the park’s evolution over seven decades, but also the generations of families who have made Enchanted Forest Water Safari part of their summer traditions.

Throughout its history, the park has continued to evolve while retaining its focus on family entertainment. Today, visitors can experience a combination of water attractions, amusement rides, live entertainment, food, games and other family-focused experiences within the Adirondack setting.
The 70th anniversary season also comes at a time of increased national attention for the attraction. In June, Enchanted Forest Water Safari was selected to feature on the nationally televised series World’s Greatest!, which showcases destinations, attractions and organisations from across the United States. The programme highlighted the park’s rides, attractions, employees and the family memories created there over the years.
As Enchanted Forest Water Safari celebrates its 70th year, the park continues to look towards the future while recognising the history and traditions that have helped make it a long-standing family destination in the Adirondacks.
