Thomas steams on!

New attractions open

Six Flags Magic Mountain, Valencia, California, has opened Thomas Town, a seven-acre children’s area based on the popular Thomas & Friends brand. New attractions have also opened in Atlanta and the UK.

Centred around a train ride on a Thomas the Tank Engine replica by Metallbau Emmeln, young guests and their families are taken on a journey through Thomas’ mythical home on the Island of Sodor.
Thomas Town also includes a refurbished rollercoaster by B&K, now themed around the character Percy, a Cranky the Crane waterplay area and a Thomas & Friends store.
The new area was built in association with Thomas & Friends licence holder HIT Entertainment and is one of two Thomas Towns debuting this season at Six Flags parks in the Staes, the other at Six Flags Over Georgia in Atlanta.
Meanwhile at Drayton Manor in England, the park’s 6,000 square metre Thomas Land , which opened at the start of the season, has now been given an added boost with the arrival of another train (by Metallbau Emmeln), this time the character Percy. His arrival will help take some of the strain off Thomas who has been working flat out since March.

Piuctured here, Drayton Manor’s Edward Pawley with Thomas and new arrival Percy.
