The Strong National Museum of Play in Rochester, New York has chosen Gateway Ticketing Systems and its Galaxy Ticketing and Admission Control software to provide an efficient purchase and admission experience for its guests.
The Museum began looking for a new ticketing system as it expanded and realised its current solution couldn’t grow and scale with them. After an extensive search and investigating multiple admission control options on the market, The Museum ultimately chose to move forward with Gateway and their Galaxy software.
The Galaxy software solution will provide The Strong with Ticketing, Membership, Group Sales, Retail POS, a Counterpoint integration for Food & Beverage, Webstore for eCommerce, Kiosks and robust Reporting. The Museum will also leverage member entitlements, specifically parking entitlements, for a new parking structure they are building. Phase 2 of the go-live could include adding Galaxy’s Customer Relationship Management module.
The Strong National Museum of Play plans to go live with the Galaxy Product Suite in December 2019. The Strong is an interactive, collections-based museum that houses collections on the history and exploration of play. You will find anything from Barbie Dolls created before the 1950’s, video games from the 1970’s, board games, and everything in between. The museum allows for children to play and interact with toys from other generations, while also encouraging adults to revisit the toys of their childhood. The museum also offers online exhibits where The Strong’s historians, curators, librarians, and archivists investigate the history, evolution, and cultural effects of play.
“Our goal at The Strong is to continually enhance the guest experience. Gateway’s robust features and capabilities, particularly with admissions and membership processes, add additional benefits to not only our museum guests but for our staff, as well,” says Malcolm Campbell, Director of Guest Services. “Transitioning our museum store to the same system will also allow us to tie in our offerings more seamlessly, too, which we could not easily do before.”
“We are thrilled to welcome The Strong National Museum of Play into our customer community,” says Michael Andre, President and CEO of Gateway Ticketing Systems. “We are excited to provide the Museum with the tools and services they need to strengthen their operations, while also gaining valuable insight and perspectives from working with the Museum’s knowledgeable team. Customers like The Strong are exactly why we love what we do: Who doesn’t want to help people experience a museum of play?”
