Summer Safaris

The UK’s West Midland Safari Park (pictured) held its first ever late night summer opening for 10 days in August.

Gates to the park were re-opened each evening at 5.15pm between August 3 and 12, allowing guests to visit the animal reserves and join in extra entertainment including an animal-inspired dance show, clowns and jesters. Forthcoming events include the Safari Illuminations, which start on Friday, September 28, the November 3 Bonfire Bonanza and Santa Safari, which opens on November 30.

Meanwhile guests at Gilroy Gardens (formerly Bonfante Gardens), Gilroy, California, recently experienced some of California’s most interesting and exotic native wild animals at Summer Safari: Predators and Prey.

This limited event featured a variety of wild animals as guests got up close to learn about each of their habitats and characteristics. Featured were a Black Bear, Mountain Lion, Lynx, Deer, Vulture, King Snake and more.

Summer Safari: Predators and Prey ran until August 29.
