The shooting break in Hollywood in Germany is officially coming to an end! Movie Park Germany starts the new season on 29 May 2020 and opens its doors again for all amusement park fans. In order to make its visitors enjoy a movie-like day under the current circumstances, Germany’s largest movie and amusement park has intensely prepared for a reopening with the authorities and has taken appropriate hygiene and safety precautions.
“The health and safety of our guests and employees continues to have top priority. Therefore, it is our greatest endeavor to prepare the park opening with the utmost care. We are now pleased to announce an opening date for the season: 29 May 2020,” says Managing Director Thorsten Backhaus. “We would also like to express our thanks to the city of Bottrop and the VDFU, who have supported us very well during the preparation phase”.
Measures and precautions for a safe and healthy visit to Movie Park
Ticket purchase and limited daily attendance capacity
The attraction park is very spacious and has an area of 45 hectares, which equates to more than 60 football fields. In order to reassure the correct movement of visitors in the park, there will be a few adjustments to the park’s operation. First of all, the number 1 family park in Germany will start with a limited number of visitors from 29 May.
In order to regulate the number of visitors in the best possible way, only day-dated online tickets will be offered, which will be available in advance and exclusively in the Movie Park Germany web shop. We recommend early booking. Tickets for the desired day of visit can be purchased as of today. Every visit to Movie Park Germany must be booked online in advance.
Already purchased undated tickets remain valid but must also be registered in advance via the web shop and exchanged for the preferred day of visit. This can be done from 26 May onwards via a separate section of the web shop.
Season Pass holders must also make use of this system and plan a day visit online in advance. They can select tickets visit after visit and choose a new date each time a visit has taken place.
Hygiene and safety precautions
Wearing a protective mask covering mouth and nose is obligatory in all roofed areas as well as waiting areas of any kind (indoor and outdoor). and in some attractions. Please note that a protective mask is also obligatory when entering the park (from the ticket office buildings to the fountain).
In addition, the generally established distance regulation of at least 1.50 meters as well as the general sneezing and coughing etiquette applies.
Appropriate distance markings for the park’s entrance, ride queues, toilets, shops and restaurant queues as well as additional information signs on hygiene and safety regulations will help guests during the park visit. All currently valid retail and catering regulations of the federal state of NRW also apply in the park.
Movie Park Germany offers the possibility of contactless payment in all outlets and stores. For an appropriate distance regulation, F&B facilities will include less tables and thus less capacity.
All employees have been sensitized to COVID-19. They have received training that ensures a healthy and safe operation and are equipped with the necessary means.
“Of course, we also hope for the help of our visitors to ensure a safe reopening”, says Thorsten Backhaus. “We would therefore kindly ask everyone to stick to the valid hygiene and safety regulations and to show consideration towards each other. We are looking forward to the reopening and will do our best to make our visitors enjoy a movie-like day in this season, also taking advantage of the large area that the park offers where our visitors can stroll along”.
