This summer, Carowinds debuted an all-new VIP Lounge near Harmony Hall in the Thunder Road section of the park.
Carowinds unveiled its first VIP Lounge experience in the autumn of 2022 as a primary benefit of the newly-introduced Prestige Pass. This premium season pass option offers guests additional premium benefits during their visits to Carowinds, including complimentary preferred parking, a VIP entrance to the park, increased discounts on food and merchandise, one Single Use Fast Lane per visit, and more.
Carowinds’ first VIP Lounge experience quickly became a fan-favorite of Prestige passholders, creating a relaxing atmosphere along the Nighthawk waterfront at which to cool off in the summer or warm up in the winter. Through the park’s 50th anniversary celebration in 2023, including Aeronautica Landing and the introduction of five new rides, it became clear that Prestige passholders valued the VIP lounge as a way to relax during their day; they would plan their day at the park around the convenience of having an exclusive environment in which to rest before getting back to the action. Earlier this year, Carowinds’ park leadership identified the VIP lounge as an opportunity to expand the benefits of the Prestige Pass even further in its second full season.
What’s New?
The all-new VIP Lounge fills the space formerly occupied by the outdoor patio and porch of Harmony Hall. When Prestige passholders first enter the new VIP Lounge, they are greeted by an associate and encouraged to explore the many new and improved amenities hosted within, including comfortable seating and flat-screen televisions arranged in a cozy configuration. This space is ideal for families looking to take a break from the excitement of a day at Carowinds.

Carowinds’ all-new VIP Lounge features a dynamic layout, incorporating indoor and outdoor relaxation zones.
Additional Options for Food, Beverage, and Merchandise
Prestige passholders can redeem their drink plans within the VIP Lounge to enjoy Coca-Cola® fountain beverages as often as every 15 minutes. Beyond the culinary side of this new experience, there are also fun options to explore for Carowinds merchandise, including a new collection of merchandise designed exclusively for season passholders.
A Significant Addition to Thunder Road
The all-new VIP Lounge is the latest addition to Carowinds’ refreshed section of the park, Thunder Road, preceded earlier this year by the retheming of the park’s signature hyper coaster, Thunder Striker, the introduction of Thunder Road Racers, a water blaster midway game, and Roadside Refreshments, a rustic kiosk for Coca-Cola® and ICEE beverages designed to emulate the classic, backroad stands of yesteryear—hand-painted murals and all.
