The largest expansion in the park’s history is planned for 2013 at Legoland Deutshland with the addition of a new themed area called Reich der Pharaonen (Realm of the Pharaohs) – anchored by an interactive dark ride.
park’s CEO Hans Aksel Pedersen made the announcement recently whilst unveiling a Pharaoh’s head built from over 86,000 Lego bricks (pictured). The new ride, called Temple X-pedition, will form part of the 6,000 square-metre Reich der Pharaonen, a new “land within a land” inside the park’s Adventure Land area. Featuring a transport system by Mack Rides, Temple X-pedition will take passengers on a three-minute adventure using 38 continually moving ride vehicles.
Legoland Deutschland is located in Günzburg, Bavaria. Temple X-pedition will be ready for the start of the 2013 season on March 23.
