Merlin Entertainments has appointed Jon Fish (pictured) as the new head of marketing for its global portfolio of Sea Life centres.
Jon, aged 38, took up the post on 28 October after five years as marketing director at Merlin’s Chessington World of Adventures Resort near London.
“I developed a real passion for the Sea Life brand and its amazing creatures through working with the Sea Life centre at Chessington and am thrilled with this new challenge,” he says. “I am really looking forward to helping guide Sea Life’s continuing expansion across the globe and in particular to raising the profile of its exciting conservation work, through its ‘Breed, Rescue, Protect’ campaign.”
Sea Life is the world’s biggest aquarium brand with 43 Sea Life centres and sanctuaries on four continents. Jon, who will be based at Merlin’s head offices in Poole, Dorset (England) takes over the global marketing role from Mark Oakley.
Originally from Derby, Jon began his marketing career with the local Bass brewery before taking up senior marketing roles with the Jongleurs comedy club chain and mobile phone retailer Phones 4U, prior to the move to Chessington.
