Paramount Pictures has signed an agreement with Indonesian company, PT Kios Ria Kreasi (Kios) to build an international theme park for families in Bali, Indonesia. The 57 Ha theme park, which will be one of the largest theme parks in Southeast Asia, will bring a new experience of natural beauty where Paramount’s cinematic worlds will be infused with Indonesia’s culture and hospitality.
The agreement celebration took place on July 25 at Paramount Pictures Studio, in Los Angeles, California. It was carried out by Paramount Global’s executive vice president of themed entertainment and experiences, Ty Granaroli, with the managing director of Kios, Ade Sulistioputra.
Ade Sulistioputra said: “Paramount is a global brand that captures the imagination of everyone from children to adults. We all have exciting memories of Paramount films with a legacy of excellence that has lasted 110 years. We will tap into Paramount Picture’s library of over 1,000 films and use brands and characters that will appeal to people of all ages, while other attractions may draw on Nickelodeon’s characters such as SpongeBob SquarePants, Dora the Explorer, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.”
In addition to park rides, the park will have two thematic hotels; Paramount Grand Resort, and the Nickelodeon Resort, which will present themes and characters from the Nickelodeon universe. These two hotels will have direct park access to the theme park by using digital tickets. An area of the park called “Land of Legends” will honour some of Indonesia’s incredible culture, myths, and legends, featuring the first Indonesian-inspired ride in an international theme park.
Ty Granaroli said: “We believe that the beauty of Bali, combined with integrated resort hotels and a Paramount theme park will create a magnificent entertainment project that all of Indonesia can be proud of. A park like this can have asignificant, long-term impact on tourism, including domestic and international visitors.”
