The world’s leading waterpark supplier has opened a new European office in Barcelona. WhiteWater’s new base in the Spanish city will be staffed by Sean Hinton, vice-president of business development for Europe, Russia the Middle East and Africa. A hub for the activities of both WhiteWater and PrimePlay, it will co-ordinate the satellite offices already in operation across the region.
Seoul’s Lotte World indoor/outdoor theme has chosen two new Zamperla family rides, a Mega Disk’O and a Flying Tigers. The latter will be themed in collaboration with Gary Goddard.
Following the installation of several Zamperla rides, including a MotoCoaster, Samba Tower and Jumping Star among others, Jin Jiang Amusement Park in Shanghai has chosen another two classic Zamperla attractions to add more thrills to its line-up. A Windshear (Top Spin-style ride) and a Power Surge were due to open this summer.
Single people looking for a date were invited to try their luck at Gardaland on July 19 when the Italian park staged a “Dogana dei Single” (Customs of Singles) event. Lonely hearts turning up before lunch were presented with “Certified Single” medal to hang around the neck so that they could be identified by other singles. Whether true love blossomed we are unsure, but the park created plenty of buzz on various social networks, which was surely one of the purposes of the event.
The Dutch technology company Lagotronics has released a new 3D interactive dark ride shooting system, developed in conjunction with the Belgian company De Pinxi. Two customers are currently under negotiation, but in future systems could be developed with any supplier of dark ride transport systems, including ETF, Mack and SBF. Scenery will be supplied by on request by Theme Builders.
