Immotion Group to power Birmingham’s new VR centre

UK based Immotion Group has announced that it is powering the virtual reality technology behind a new VR centre in Birmingham. The business, founded by Martin Higginson and David Marks, has teamed up with Resorts World to help launch the Vortex Arena.

The centre will be a family-friendly space on the ground floor of Resorts World Birmingham, and the third Vortex Gaming venue within the destination. A VR sledge, racer, battle system and intergalactic racing game will also be included in the facility – with Immotion Group providing the VR hardware and some of the content.

“We’re delighted to work with Resorts World and provide them with our range of highly immersive VR experiences and motion platforms,” said Martin Higginson, executive chairman of Immotion Group. “Players will be able to experience the delights of virtual reality first hand. From the thrills of roller coaster rides to deep sea diving, shooting zombies, to intergalactic motorcycle racing.”

Birmingham’s Vortex Arena will open on 29 March 2018.
