The LEGOLAND Windsor Resort is piloting an innovative new service for guests this summer, with the ‘Ice Cream Cone Drone’. Families can order from a selection of refreshing and delicious ice creams and have them delivered to their hand, across the park, by drone delivery. The service will be piloted for a limited time on 25th July at the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort, with plans to roll out the service if successful.
Whether guests fancy a Solero from the air-o, or a Cornetto dropped down from the skies – all they need is a smartphone, a contactless bank card and a love of ice cream. The Ice Cream Cone Drone will then fly to their location and drop off the ice creams, before flying back to Ice Cream HQ to load up for the next order.
Whether waiting for a ride, or marvelling at the sites as they wander around Miniland, guests can place an order with the brand-new service by sending a tweet to the LEGOLAND Windsor twitter account. Once the order has been placed, the total cost for the ice cream will be messaged back to customers and the order will be processed promptly.
Guests will just need to share their location in the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort, choosing from multiple collection points and switching their torch light on their smartphone, and the camera on the drone will locate them before lowering an ice cream filled basket to another satisfied customer. All they need to do is collect their order and tap their bank card on the card reader inside the drone’s basket to use contactless payment.
A LEGOLAND Windsor spokesperson said: “We want families visiting the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort to spend every minute of their visit having the times of their lives enjoying our attractions. There is nothing better on a hot summers day than a lovely cooling ice cream and our revolutionary ice cream cone drone will ensure that our guests can keep having fun without having to stop and get an ice cream.”
LEGOLAND Windsor has something for everyone this summer with a range of exciting attractions within the resort waiting to be discovered. The new Haunted House Monster Party ride will provide bumps and jumps for the whole family, while movie fans can discover The LEGO MOVIE 2 Experience and explore the set made completely out of LEGO bricks.
Families can also experience ‘LEGO City 4D – Officer in Pursuit!’ as they become part of the action in the unique 4D experience which will test the senses with elements such as water, wind and fire.
The excitement doesn’t stop there this summer, as guests at the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort can get monster savings of 40% off all day tickets bought online until 31 July 2019 and ‘Make it a Monster Summer!’ Tickets in the sale are from just £28 per person for visits to the Resort on any date until 2 November 2019**. For visits during the school summer holidays, day tickets can be purchased online for just £36**per person.
Families can even book a monster short break where not only do the Kids Go Free*** into the theme park, they can also stay for free in the LEGOLAND Hotels and selected nearby hotels! Families just need to book online by midnight on 2 September 2019.
