The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) is to expand its Safety Institute in 2010 by holding separate one-day workshops beginning in March in Asia, the Middle East, Latin America and the United States.
Attraction operators, developers, and government officials are invited to learn from industry experts as they discuss how to achieve safety excellence. Safety Institutes will take place this year as follows:
March 11: Las Vegas, Nevada
A half-day session will be held as part of the education programme at Fun Expo, IAAPA’s newly acquired trade show.
March 12: Beijing, China
Held in partnership with the China Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (CAAPA) during its annual Attractions Expo.
March 15: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
For the third consecutive year, the IAAPA Middle East Safety Institute will cover best safety practices and allow attendees to share their own experiences through a combination of roundtable discussions, lectures and networking opportunities.
March 17: Mumbai, India
Staged in partnership with the Indian Association of Amusement Parks and Industries (IAAPI) during its annual Amusement Expo.
April 19-20: Bogotá, Colombia
Held in conjunction with the annual conference for the Colombian Parks and Attractions Association (ACOLAP).
May 21: Buenos Aires, Argentina
The Safety Institute will follow the Latin American Institute for Executive Education, which takes place from May 17 to 20.
July 13: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
The fourth Asian Safety Institute will kick off the education conference at IAAPA’s Asian Attractions Expo.
IAAPA is also planning Safety Institutes and education sessions during the week of Euro Attractions Show 2010 in Rome, Italy (October 6 to 8) and IAAPA Attractions Expo 2010 in Orlando, Florida (November 15 to 19).
