IAAPA Offers COVID-19 Reopening Guidance

IAAPA has released a new member resource, COVID-19 Reopening Guidace: Considerations for the Global Attractions Industry. The free 36-page document can be found at https://iaapa.org/sites/default/files/2020-05/IAAPA_COVID-19_ReopeningGuidance_final.pdf

The safety of guests and employees remains the attractions industry’s number-one priority. This free global resource outlines principles and approaches to consider as park operators prepare to reopen once local government officials in their area remove “stay-at-home” orders, allow non-essential businesses to reopen, and say it’s safe for citizens to move around their community.

This guidance covers important topics, including:

  • Physical Distancing: Calculating Capacities
  • Face Masks / Cloth Face Coverings for Employees and Guests
  • Sanitation / Housekeeping / Cleaning Operations
  • Human Resources
  • Rides, Attractions, Exhibits
  • Water Park Operations
  • Food and Beverage Operations
  • Retail and Merchandise
  • Games, Arcades, and other Family Entertainment Center Attractions
  • Theaters, Entertainment, Shows, and Animal Experiences/Encounters
  • Restroom Cleanliness
  • Guest Confidence and Communication
  • And more …

While this document is a first edition, the goal is to create updated editions to help the global attractions industry begin to recover in the wake of COVID-19 as IAAPA gathers and refines this information.
