Holovis global expansion

Holovis continues to expand its global footprint with the opening of new offices, mockup-build facilities and dedicated R&D and demonstration spaces in the US, UK and Ukraine. Over the past 12 months the company has expanded its operation in Orlando, established a Software Development Hub in Kyiv and is launching an Innovation Hub and new offices in Manchester.

In Orlando, US, Holovis has significantly expanding its footprint by acquiring a 7000sqft warehouse adjacent to its current US offices on Exchange Drive. The space will be used for project builds and demonstrations, allowing the creation of mock-ups for projects before being installed onsite. This highly successful approach replicates the same setup as used at the company’s UK HQ when designing and delivering projects for Middle East and China clients, ensuring each attraction is operational and tested prior to shipping, helping mitigate the usual install challenges and ensuring the attraction opens on-time.

This US expansion has been driven by the company’s growing pipeline of US projects and continuing support of major theme parks with complex AV design and delivery, advanced engineering and proprietary software development.

In Kyiv, Ukraine, the company has opened a Development Hub primarily focused on software creation, recruiting locally from a highly specialised talent pool. The team are working on next generation proprietary platforms and tools that will revolutionise collaboration and connectivity of data, places and people spanning across entertainment, virtual manufacturing, advanced engineering and smart city development.

In Manchester, UK, Holovis has joined the team at The Landing in Media City, an established co-working space for the digital creative sectors. Holovis joins the community as an anchor partner, supporting the digitalfocused start and scale up businesses by providing collaboration opportunities and access to new data capture and interrogation platforms within the Holovis Innovation Hub.

Manchester is a rapidly growing technology hot spot, over 10,000 technologists made the move from London last year and the city’s digital tech turnover climbed by over 4% to £3.2bn in 2018

Stuart Hetherington, CEO of Holovis said: “This is a very exciting time, the scope and scale of work we are winning and delivering is growing significantly in all territories, something that we feel is reflected by the current buoyancy of the industry. We are continuing to expand and recruit on a global basis for our UK, Orlando, Ukraine and China offices, as we continue to push the boundaries of themed entertainment with world-first solutions and applications of emerging technologies.”

In June 2019 Holovis and its shareholding partner KingJoy opened a five floor Innovation and Demonstration Center in the heart of Shanghai. This features applications of Holovis’s emerging technologies and complex immersive environments from the entertainment, enterprise and simulation sectors, as well as offices, innovation labs and development teams for both companies.
