Vekoma Rides Manufacturing has revealed that it will be of the key suppliers to a new family entertainment centre (FEC) launching next year in The Netherlands – only it won’t be providing any rollercoasters.
Opening in September 2014 at the McArthurGlen Designer Outlet in Roermond – less than 30 minutes from the Vekoma headquarters in Vlodrop and close to the German border – Yumble will be the first of what it is hoped will become a chain of outlets across Europe.

Billed as the “Entertainment Park 2.0”, the 8,000 sq m facility promises “a thrilling virtual reality experience based on motion technology video projection and interactive elements.” Anchor attractions will include Adventure Execution, a Soarin-style V-Ride adventure flight simulator built by Vekoma’s Taiwanese partner Brogent Technologies, and Ranger, a 3D dark ride (or ‘D-Ride’) with cars by ETF Ride Systems.

Using an online/app-based ticketing system, Yumble visitors will benefit from airline-style dynamic pricing and short queue times. Capacity will be up to 4,500 guests per hour.
Investors are currently being sought for future sites and the plan is to roll out Yumble to at least one new location a year.
