More waterpark attractions for 2009
The Boardwalk at Hersheypark, Pennyslvania, will be expanded next season with the addition of The SEAquel, comprising two attractions from Whitewater West Industries, The Shore and Intercoastal Waterway.
nearly 378,000-gallon wave pool, will blend fresh and filtered water to simulate the ocean’s currents. With a uniform water depth of two and a half feet, meanwhile, Intercoastal Waterway is a lazy river style attraction that will allow guests to float along on individual rafts at an easy pace. These new attractions replace Canyon River Rapids, a white water raft ride that opened in 1987 and had much lower capacity.
Also new for the 2009 season are 27 private cabanas for rental by guests of Hershey Resorts guests, as well as additional restroom and locker facilities, a restaurant, two food kiosks, two retail outlets and lounging space.
