Craig Clews, the new resort director of Gulliver’s World.

Gulliver’s Theme Park Resorts has appointed a new member of its management team as the family-run business looks to continue with its growth plans into 2022.

Craig Clews, 41, from Preston, has joined Gulliver’s World in Warrington as resort director which is brand new post for the company. He was previously assistant operations director at Blackpool Pleasure Beach and before that worked his way up to assistant general manager at Crealy Adventure Park and Resort in Devon.

Craig, who will oversee the whole business operation across Gulliver’s World, supporting teams working in areas including ride engineering, hospitality and management, said: “Gulliver’s in Warrington was my very first day out with my family that I can remember, so coming back here 30 years later brings back great memories. I’ve walked around the park alone recently pinching myself because I can’t believe I’m here.

“It’s exciting to be working with a passionate family and the team here at the park have made me feel welcome. I’m just looking forward to bringing my 15 years of theme park experience to Gulliver’s World and building on what has already been achieved.

“My focus will be on recruitment, investing in our team and setting the highest standards of customer service to help every guest make magical memories and want to return. Gulliver’s offers so much and I want to make sure we continue to deliver those experiences by providing what our customers want and supporting our team to deliver it.”

Julie Dalton, managing director at Gulliver’s Theme Parks Resorts, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Craig to Gulliver’s as we continue to grow and enhance the business across all our parks but this new role, and Craig’s expertise, will give us a clear focus for developing Gulliver’s World and taking it to the next level.

“As a company, we’re always looking for ways to improve and set the highest standards for the industry, whether that is investing in our park infrastructure or in great people. After what has been a turbulent couple of years for our industry, we are confident we can now look ahead and continue with our growth plans. This new role allows to start this process so it’s a really exciting time for Gulliver’s World and the company as a whole.”
