First visitors enjoy new Efteling attraction Symbolica

The Palace of Fantasy opens its doors to the public
Efteling visitors are welcome in the new family attraction Symbolica, an enchanting palace in which nothing is what it seems. The palace doors opened for the first time to the public yesterday, and the first enthusiastic visitors ran to Symbolica for an audience with the King. Symbolica: Palace of Fantasy was constructed over a year and a half at a cost of 35 million Euros. This makes it the most expensive and largest attraction in Efteling, the theme park in the South of Holland, of all time.
“We have tried to build a differentiating family attraction, especially to celebrate Efteling’s 65th anniversary. And to now see that whole families come to Efteling for a ride in Symbolica is very moving. And I am not just speaking for myself, but especially on behalf of all the people who were involved with the construction of this phenomenal attraction”, says Fons Jurgens, Chairman of Efteling’s Board of Directors. Sander de Bruijn, head of the design team, adds: “It is fantastic to see that visitors are amazed by the experiences in the many scenes of this totally imaginative attraction. For us, as the design team, it feels as if all the bits of the puzzle are falling into place.”
