Ferrari World Abu Dhabi to open immersive ‘mega coaster’

Yas Island’s Ferrari World Abu Dhabi is preparing to launch a new roller coaster called Mission Ferrari on 12 January 2023.

The ride will be available to annual passholders from 5 January. Described as the world’s most immersive ‘mega coaster’, Mission Ferrari will offer an exhilarating and multi-sensory 5D experience.

It features the world’s first sideways coaster drop, an inverted loop and state-of-the-art special effects. It combines cutting-edge technology with scenic show sets.

“We are very excited to unveil Mission Ferrari to the world,” said Deana Taylor, general manager at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi.

“Fans are in for a truly memorable experience with a combination of immersive ride media and an exhilarating roller coaster track that is unlike anything else in the region,” Taylor added.

“12 years strong, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi is still dedicated to elevating the guest experience by introducing new rides and attractions.

“We can’t wait for our guests to try it and create unforgettable memories at our Ferrari-inspired park.”

Located on Yas Island, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi is home to family-friendly rides and attractions including the world’s fastest roller coaster, Formula Rossa.

The first-ever Ferrari-branded indoor theme park is operated by Farah Experiences and owned by Miral. It is close to both Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi and Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi.

In more news, Yas Island is entering the metaverse as part of a pioneering project to put Abu Dhabi in the virtual world.

The entire physical destination is being recreated in multiple immersive 3D platforms, with virtual visitors able to enjoy its theme parks from home.

Mohammed Abdalla Al Zaabi, CEO of Miral, said people “from every corner of the globe will soon be able to enjoy captivating and immersive experiences across Yas Island in the digital world”.
