Familypark sold to Compagnie des Alpes

Mario and Ulrike Müller, the owners of Familypark, Austria, have announced their retirement and the sale of the park to Compagnie des Alpes, a leading player in the European lewisure industry. The company, which employs more than 250 people and annually attracts more than 715,000 visitors from home and abroad to Burgenland, celebrated it’s 50th anniversary in 2018, the same year that Mario turned sixty.

Commenting on the news, Ulrike Müller said the decision had been a difficult one: “One of our sons will continue to work in the park and I will also help and advise the new manager in the coming months. The Familypark has always been part of us, now it’s time to go other ways,” she said.

The park will now be owned and run by Compagnie des Alpes, a leading player in the European leisure industry. Mario Müller said: “Our entire team will continue to work alongside the new management. Familypark is already one of the medium-sized parks on the European market, and a theme park of this size requires regular investments of considerable magnitude. Compagnie des Alpes will continue the previous growth course while retaining the individual character of the park. We are convinced that the park is developing with the dynamism of recent years under the leadership of the Compagnie des Alpes – the potential is definitely there. It was the right decision for us and the future of the park.”
