Dreamland announces new Winterland Margate and grotto experience

Dreamland will be hosting a festive extravaganza this December – Winterland Margate – with seasonal entertainment and rides running on selected days throughout the month, and a brand new grotto experience for families.

After taking a break last Christmas (2018), Dreamland is laying on some brand new fun at the Margate park for all ages to enjoy on selected days between 7thand 31st December.

Guests can expect dazzling fairy light walks, a winter market with festive food and drinks, yuletide crafts, free festive film screenings, Christmas trees, wreath making, and more. A selection of seasonal rides will also be running during open days, including Double Decker, Gallopers, Speedway, Chair-O-Plane and Austin Cars.

There will also be a special giant Snow Globe that guests can climb inside (please note that this incurs an extra fee), and dogs will also be allowed on the park with their owners throughout the festive period – Santa Paws, anyone?

Frosted FM will be in full swing at the Roller Disco, playing Christmas classics from 1pm to 5pm on Winterland Margate open days, so strap on your skates and spin around the dance floor.

And for those who can’t wait, tickets have already been released for one of the most exciting Christmas features the park has ever had – the Winterland Grotto Experience.

The huge 1hr walk-through grotto includes a variety of activities and photo ops for families, including:

  • Make your own all-natural reindeer food to take home for Christmas Eve
  • See Santa’s Elves in their workshop and help them make it snow
  • Take a photo with The Ice Maiden in an alpine-themed selfie zone
  • Meet Father Christmas and receive a premium gift, photo and certificate
  • Personalise your gift from Santa at the Teddytastic workshops

Grotto tickets cost from £22.25 + booking fee, and include access to the full 1hr experience plus all rides open in the park. The grotto will be open on 7th, 14th, 21st and 22nd December and early booking is strongly advised.

Dreamland CEO Eddie Kemsley (f) said: “We are rounding off our best year ever at Dreamland with our best ever Christmas experience. 2019 has been an incredible year for us already, and we want to give people an amazing festive experience that the whole family can enjoy again and again.

“We delighted to offer Kent residents even more choice of festive fun in December, see you at the Grotto!

Winterland Margate is free to enter, and guests can pay to ride or buy ride wristbands in advance. Winterland will be open on 7th, 8th, 14th and 15th December, and then daily from 21st to 31st December (excluding Christmas Day). The park will open from 12noon to 6pm daily, and from 12noon to 4pm Christmas Eve.
