Butterfly Palladium about to bloom

OTL, a design-build construction company specialising in water features, rockwork, and themed environments has been selected to design and construct a 45-foot-tall artificial mountain and various water features for the new Butterfly Palladium.

“Buena Park is emerging as a capital of entertainment destinations,” says Buena Park Mayor Virginia Vaughn. “The work being done at the Butterfly Palladium will create an authentic taste of the Costa Rican rainforest, promoting tourism and attracting thousands of guests each year.”

Project developer Rubin Stahl previously worked on the West Edmonton Mall in Canada, and has been collaborating closely with OTL. Lila Stahl, president of Butterfly Palladium, lead architect Brissette Architects, and general contractor Acon Development are also involved in the project.

OTL’s new mountain will be located in the butterfly atrium, surrounded by waterfall features and 2,500 square feet of rockwork for artificial streams. The rainforest inspired design will also feature textured paving and sanctuaries for live butterflies and bees.

Along with a 3-D movie theatre, restaurant, gift shop, and atrium designed to host special events, Butterfly Palladium will also offer educational highlights for schools and students.

Butterfly Palladium is located in Buena Park, California, and is due to be complete in 2019.
