Parent company Compagnie des Alpes has green-lighted construction of a brand new indoor water park in Bellewaerde, Belgium. With an investment portfolio of 17 million euros, the opening is planned for the spring of 2019
Designed to cater to the entire family, the site will be about 3000 m² and aims to give visitors an “authentic and unforgettable” experience. Water slides and water features will be placed in an oasis of green, and a play zone and a toddler’s pool will entertain little ones. Parents can relax in the beach chairs or the wellness area, and a lazy river will take visitors through the entire park through a cave and numerous water effects.
The arrival of Bellewaerde Aquapark means the largest investment ever for Bellewaerde. “Several market studies showed the potential of Bellewaerde’s combination with an indoor water park, so the entire Bellewaerdeteam is proud that we can realize this important project. The aquapark will have an overall positive impact on Bellewaerde as well as employment as at least 10 extra people will be recruited,” said Stefaan Lemey, general manager of Bellewaerde.
