BALPPA partners with UK trade shows

A busy programme of trade shows and events awaits members of the British Association of Leisure Parks, Piers and Attractions (BALPPA).

After several years’ official absence, BALPPA is back on board as a partner of the UK trade show Leisure Industry Week (LIW), which takes place this September. The association will also offer added input to this winter’s EAG International exhibition in London.

At LIW, which runs from 24 to 26 September at the NEC in Birmingham, BALPPA will contribute towards the seminar programme and encourage its members to visit the exhibition’s Play & Attractions sector. Additional support for the show, which covers everything from leisure centres and gym equipment to playgrounds and park equipment, has been pledged by the Family Entertainment Centre Association (FECA) and British & Irish Association of Zoos & Aquariums (BIAZA).

Now in its fifth year, EAG at the Excel centre in London’s Docklands has become the main trade show for the British coin-op industry since the demise of ATEI in Earls Court. Both events have traditionally been held immediately after BALPPA’s Annual Dinner in London, and EAG organisers believe the event will have increased appeal to parks and attractions operators when it takes place from 21 to 23 January.

There will also be informal rendezvous for BALPPA members during Euro Attractions Show in Paris, meeting at the Oceania Hotel ahead of the EAS Opening Reception on Wednesday 18 September. The association’s Regional Meeting for 2013 will take place in and around York on October 15 and 16, visiting Flamingo Land, Web Adventure Park and Pike Hills Golf Club.
