4D film gets TEA recognition
The 4D theatre experience Awards Night was one of several attractions to pick up a Thea Award from the TEA (Themed Entertainment Association) last month in California, during its gala evening at the Disneyland Hotel.
Created and produced by Super 78 in Hollywood, the film is the showpiece of the new Audubon Insectarium, an educational venue in New Orleans also recognised for its own Thea Award.
The 8-minute show, featuring a 5-minute pre-show, simulates an Oscars-inspired awards ceremony for insects – billed as the “Tiniest Show on Earth” – and features a cast of voices including Joan Rivers, Jay Leno and Brad Garrett.
“Awards Night is a very successful blend of education and entertainment,” believes Super 78 principal Dina Benadon. The company npw hopes to create a TV spin-off featuring the Awards Night insect characters.
