In addition to the one-of-a-kind Chondola (multi-person aerial gondola), guests will now be able to reach Anakeesta Mountain via an immersive adventure trek through the forest. Guests can board a Ridge Rambler at the Chondola base station at 576 Parkway in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, then enjoy a scenic ride along a forested road to the summit of Anakeesta.
Beginning in late August, each Ridge Rambler will feature a 20-minute guided tour, where riders will learn fun facts about the animals, forest, and plant life of the Great Smoky Mountains and preview the fun day to be had at Anakeesta. These military trucks are a whopping 17 tons of fun! Each Ridge Rambler will hold 45 passengers, are 35 feet (11 m) long, and nearly 14 feet (4 m) tall.
“We are always looking at how to improve the guest experience at Anakeesta,’ said Bob Bentz, Managing Partner. “The Ridge Rambler will transport guests that may not want to ride the Chondola or are seeking an adventurous ride through a scenic forested area of our 70 acre (28 hectare) park.” “In fact, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if guests spot a few bears along the way.”
