The UK theme park’s award-winning Halloween event returns this autumn with scare mazes, live entertainment and thrills after dark

Alton Towers Resort is set to transform into the home of Halloween once again this autumn, as its award-winning Scarefest returns for 2026.

Running across selected dates from 26 September through to 1 November, Scarefest will bring spooky thrills, live entertainment and Halloween atmosphere to the Staffordshire theme park, with guests invited to experience Alton Towers after dark.

The event will take place on 26–27 September, 2–4 October, 9–11 October and 16 October–1 November, with the park promising a line-up of spine-tingling scare mazes and exhilarating Halloween experiences.

While Alton Towers has yet to reveal the full 2026 Scarefest line-up, the event is set to once again combine frightening attractions for thrill-seekers with family-friendly Halloween entertainment.

For those brave enough, some of the resort’s headline rides will take on a different feel after dark. Guests can face the likes of Nemesis Reborn, Wicker Man and The Smiler as night falls, with the darkness adding an extra layer of intensity to the rides.

Scarefest will also offer entertainment for younger visitors, with Alton Towers describing the event as a Halloween experience for all ages, alongside its more intense scare attractions aimed at older guests.

The 2026 event follows the introduction of new experiences in recent years, including the Edge of the Forest scare maze and Dark Hollow scare zone, which joined the Scarefest line-up in 2025.

With the park transformed for Halloween and its major coasters operating into the darkness, Scarefest is set to give guests the chance to experience Alton Towers from a very different perspective this autumn.
