All the fun of the fair!

Carnaval is a cutting-edge amusement park located in Global Village Dubai, a destination for culture, shopping and entertainment. It premiered as part of Global Village Season 22 in November 2017 and with 30 rides in one event, the buzz leading up to it was immense: “Whilst the exact ride line up was under wraps, we started receiving a lot of questions when the 80 metre towers started to appear in the skyline,” says Carnaval director, Neil Dwyer. Tell me about your thrill rides. How did you choose them? Which are the most popular?

Part of the uniqueness of Global Village is its reinvention each season and the same theory was put to the table when we started to select our thrill ride experiences, we wanted to make sure alongside the firm favourites there was something new to experience. From the Middle East’s tallest drop tower, to what is currently the highest observation wheel in Dubai, we are keen on providing the best fun times to our guests. “Shang High” our StarFlyer and “Global Burj” the Freefall Skyfall Drop Tower from Funtime Group were new rides for the event; similar experiences had operated in previous years and had scored favourably in guest satisfaction surveys, however the new ‘twist’ was the new version of both these tower rides now bigger than ever –at over 80 metres tall they are the tallest rides of their kind in the Middle East, with a free fall experience that reaches 15 metres a second!
