The world’s first permanent Pokémon theme park is coming to Japan next year.

PokéPark Kanto will be built inside Tokyo’s largest theme park – Yomiuriland.

The Pokémon Company have said the new Tokyo theme park will open to the public in February 2026 – in time forPokémon’s 30th anniversary.

The park has been named Kanto after the real-life area of Japan, and the fictional version of it, first introduced in the Pokémon Red and Blue games.

So far, the Pokémon Company have shared a teaser trailer, and a drawn map of the new park.

Visitors will enter through a “Pokémon Research Lab” building, which is a gateway to the park’s two sections: Pokémon Forest and Sedge Town.

Pokémon Forest is a woodland trail which features lots of Pokémon statues in different settings, while Sedge Town is a town centre area, which has a Pokémon Centre, a Poké Mart, rides and a fountain.

There will also be stage performances and parades.

Overall, the Pokémon Company say there will be more than 600 Pokémon in the park.

The first visitors will be chosen by a lottery or raffle system but no ticket plans for people living outside of Japan have been announced yet.
