Talented model makers at LEGOLAND Windsor Resort have taken brick building to the next level, with the unveiling a giant LEGO heart, symbolising the love of play, to kickstart LEGO Festival, the biggest family celebration of play ever.

The quintessentially British-themed model took 650 hours to create from more than 120,000 bricks and features an intricately crafted Royal Guard LEGO Minifigure standing proud in front of Windsor Castle.

Standing at 6ft tall, the model welcomes guests as they enter the Resort and is one of seven created for LEGOLAND Resorts worldwide to celebrate the first-ever LEGO Festival experience.

The Hearts have been built to celebrate the love of play, after recent research found that 76% of parents believe that kids now have less time and space to play than ever before. LEGO Festival has been created to encourage families to play together on an epic scale, inspiring creativity, confidence and learning in the lead up to World Play Day on June 11.

Ramesh Ganeson, vice president at LEGOLAND Windsor Resort, said: “We are very excited to welcome guests to the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort for our first-ever LEGO Festival, and what better way to greet everyone than with a giant LEGO brick built heart! This festival is a celebration of creativity, imagination, and the pure joy of play.

“Our team has poured their hearts into creating an unforgettable experience, and we can’t wait for families to join us in building lifelong memories together, and most importantly, celebrating the power of play.”

LEGO Festival runs from May 3, until June 8, and is included with regular admission to the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort with prices starting at £39 per person, kids under 90cm go free.
