28th annual Thea Award submissions now open

The prestigious Thea Awards of the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) celebrates excellence in the creation of compelling places and experiences. The TEA’s Thea Awards recognises excellence and innovation in the themed entertainment and international visitor attractions industry and reinforces the value of experience design and themed entertainment approaches to engaging people worldwide.

Nominations are open now through to 6th August 2021. Each year hundreds of submissions are received and considered by the TEA Thea Awards Judging Committee for outstanding destination attractions, breakthrough technology, event spectaculars, cultural attractions or guest experiences, as well as for individuals who have made their mark through a lifetime of distinguished achievements.

To be considered for the 28th annual judging cycle, your project must have opened or the event have taken place between July 1, 2019 and July 31, 2021.

“The Pandemic forced our minds to rethink and reinvent projects in many creative ways. We’re looking to find and celebrate the brilliance of those reinventive experiences from around the globe,” said a spokesperson.

NEW FOR 2021! THE THEA CATALYST AWARD

Introduced for the 28th Annual Awards, the Thea Catalyst Award recognises an individual who has recently made an important impact benefitting the industry. “According to the TEA, this is the award for dreamers and doers who have impacted or have influenced the creation of experiences.”
